When do you start preparing for the Holiday season?
The day after Christmas, I start planning for next year, of course!
I'm a big fan of Christmas in July. That's when I start making gifts and cards.
Sometime during the early fall, when the earliest holiday decorations start appearing.
The day after Thanksgiving. I hit the Black Friday sales and start my holiday planning.
Oh, a couple of days before Christmas I join the holiday rat race.
I don't. Go ahead. Just call me Scrooge.

Your Privacy is Important to Us

At Debt-Proof Living we recognize and respect the importance of maintaining the privacy of our customers and the users of our website. Below we describe why we gather customer information, what information we collect, how we collect it, what we use the information for and how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use or disclosure of that information. We maintain very strict privacy and security standards for our customers that were created to protect your personal information.  We apply the same rules to former customers as current customers.

We require all of our customers to log in to our website before they are permitted to gain access to their account information. You must enter your unique Debt-Proof Living username and enter your personal password in order to log in to our website. Ultimately, you are responsible for keeping your password secret, which means that you should not tell anyone what your password is. We recommend that you change your password regularly by going, at anytime, to the My Account page and entering a new password.

Why do we gather information?

We gather personal information about you to allow us to process your orders, to provide an enhanced and personalized experience, to contact you from time to time regarding products and services that might be of interest to you and to provide you with information about us.

What types of personal information do we gather?

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources: (i) the member forms that you complete with Debt-Proof Living for any of our services, including Debt-Proof Living Online, or by ordering any books and/or products from our bookstore, and other products and promotions that we may offer from time to time; (ii) any information you enter on our website or give to us in any other way, including information about your transactions and experiences with us, and (iii) information that is collected when you interact with us, such as information gathered through the use of "cookies" and other electronic collection or identifying devices.

How we use or disclose information we collect about you:

Debt-Proof Living does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you or any of our former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.  We limit the collection and use of your information to the minimum we require to deliver our services to you, including advising you about our products and services in connection with administering our customers.

Debt-Proof Living may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, traffic patterns, and related site information to outside parties (i.e., third party partners, industry analysts or the media); however, these statistics will not include personally identifiable information or account information about any of our individual customers.

We may disclose some or all of the information we collect (as described in the preceding paragraphs) to third parties to provide functions on our behalf, such as marketing services, maintaining and servicing your account or maintaining our website. Other examples of the work they may be doing for us include fulfilling orders, sending postal mail and e-mail, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, and providing customer service. These third parties have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

In addition, as we continue to develop our business, we might sell, buy, transfer, exchange, or merge all or a portion of a business or an operating unit.  In such proposed or actual transactions, nonpublic personal customer information may be shared and may be one of the transferred business assets.

How we use "cookies" and other electronic devices.

A "cookie" is a small file stored on your computer by a website which gives you a numeric user ID and stores certain information about your activity on the site. We use cookies and other electronic devices to establish a user session and monitor certain usage while you are on our site. Your usage is tracked primarily so that we can (i) if necessary, modify the website according to your usage to make the information you are looking for easier to find in the future,  (ii)  maintain sufficient hardware, software and personnel to provide you with a high level of service, and (iii) let third parties know about certain usage on our site. The cookies and electronic devices passed to you are seamless, do not reveal your personal identity, will not follow you as you surf on to other websites. The electronic devices may allow third parties to identify your usage on our website with your consent to accrue or recognize incentives or bonuses provided by the third parties to you in connection with your activity on our website. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but most allow you to instruct your browser to prevent the use of cookies. However, if you disable this feature, certain aspects of our website may not function properly.

When you become a subscriber or register with Debt-Proof Living, you are automatically "opted-in" to receive mailings or e-mails from us relating to (1) our Newsletter, (2) new features and/or services and (3) articles on our website.  Only Debt-Proof Living (or people working on our behalf and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these offers and mailings.

If you do not want to receive such offers and mailings, you can let us know by clicking the "no" buttons on our registration page. You can also change your last choice on the "My Account" page after each time you have logged-in to your account. We will remove your name from our lists as promptly as we can.

We restrict access to personal information about you to those employees who use the information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your personal information.
